No. Hidden Routes is designed for riders of all experience levels — from complete beginners to experienced mountain bikers. The electric assist makes climbing easier and helps riders build confidence off-road. However, riders must be able to ride an normal bike.

You do not need to be super fit. The electric assistance allows riders of different ages and fitness levels to enjoy the trails together comfortably. 

Modern e-MTB batteries typically provide more than enough range for half a day and for full day tours and hires we provide the location of places your can stop off for lunch and charge your battery while you are there.

The minimum age allowed is 14, however our bikes are suitable for those 5ft 3in/160cm and above.

Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.

Our guides are British Cycling MTB Trail Leader accredited and hold an Outdoor First Aid Training certificate.

We recommend:

• Comfortable outdoor clothing

• Waterproof jacket

• Gloves

• Flat-soled shoes or trainers

• Layers suitable for Welsh weather

Avoid loose clothing that could catch on the bike.

You get wet! This is Pembrokeshire after all… Seriously, we have a wide range of trails to choose from so in all but the most extreme weather conditions there is always somewhere to ride.

You can legally ride our electric mountain bikes almost anywhere a normal pedal mountain bike is allowed
